Find a factory service manual on Ebay or by a Haines book. You will find that in the future of owning your truck you will need one. I have used mine for 26 years.

ive got one too but i need to see how everything interacts with the firewall, fender wells, and battery. the main question i have is the fuesable link that the alternator hooks up to, mines all hashed up and is bolted to a whole bunch of wires. i need to see the factory way.

The Fusible link on the Alternator circuit has an 80 Amp rating and it is hooked onto the positive battery terminal. You should have two other fusible links on the positive battery terminal, 1-to the hazard and headlight circuits and 1-to the ignition switch and finally a large wire going to the starter. All other wires that you might have will have to be traced to see where they go.
