I have a pretty used 88 4runner that I've been trying to get fully runnable. One of the problems I've been facing is that when I put the car in 4wd and lock the front wheels or leave them unlocked the car will not steer in either direction unless two of us pull it really hard in either direction. One thought was that a few of my cv joint boots were busted and perhaps seizing whenever I put the car in 4wd. I've fixed two out of three now two being both outer cv boots in the front and the last I haven't got to yet being the inner front right. I haven't come up with any other ideas about why this could be happening. Any ideas?
