oil cooler hose... from waterpump to oil cooler..

Do we replace that oil cooler hose that runs from waterpump to the side of block (driver side). I didn't replace it when I did waterpump service at 65k miles, but now, I am doing waterpump + t-belt maintenance at 135k miles.

The hose end where it is hooked to water pump got a little worn/squeezed (at the spot where the hose clamp sits around).
Should I consider this as one of regular maintenance item or should it just last another 100k miles or so as it is?

I haven't found any topic/thread talking about this hose... or am I just asking too obvious question?

If I need to service this, it looks like I have to remove alternator first to get to the side of block. Is it right? or any simpler method?

Also, the oem price seems quite high (~ 30bucks for this piece of rubber hose). Can I just run it with regular 1/2 inch ID universal coolant hose and be done with it? Anybody have any experience with this oil cooler hose? Thank you.

I would replace it. If it is starting to swell, the hose is breaking down from the inside out.

Buy it from the dealer, it will have the correct bends to it. This is one of those hoses that you are MUCH better off just ponying up and buying the correct part. Generic straight hoses will kink and cut off coolant flow.
