Cool ODO/SPEEDO/drivetrain issues with tire swap

just bought my first runner...2000 sr5 2wd 95,000mi for $7360. I want to replace stock 225.75.15 with 265.70.16. I know the overall diameter of the tires with affect ODO/SPEEDO but the Limited trim comes with this setup from the factory. Will there be any harmful effects to my drive train? Will this swap look odd with no fender flares?

because its 2wd it will change your speedo i believe because yours was set up as 2wd, so you might have to have the speedo changed, also it'll look fine with no fender flares... there are plenty of guys on here with large tires and no fender flares... on less piece of plastic to worry about, and as for drive train, i couldn't think of anything it might affect, unless you go super big... which i don't see happening,(example 44inch tires on stock drivetrain) do some research using the search button, does wonders, don't worry i was in your position once

Regarding the lack of fender flares, you need to check your local laws about wider tires and fenders. Many states have laws the prohibit the tire being outside the fender flare, especially on trucks.

My 01 had 225/75R15 tires when I bought it and I switched to 265/75R16. I added some Bushwacker flares and I corrected the speedo with one of these from Dakota Digital

I was running the original 3.91 gears for 3 years with no noticeable loss of performance. I only changed the gears because I put the locker in.

Thanks for all your input. Do you guys know if there are any technical/drivetrain/electrical differences between an SR5 and a Limited to compensate for larger tires?

The only difference will be in the diff, trucks with larger tires have lower gears, usually 4.30 or 4.56.
