Replacing rear bench w/ buckets in my 4Runner?
So I searched around for a bit and I didn't see anyone who has done this in a 4Runner? Ive seen a lot of swaps from the 60/40 bench to buckets in a Taco but little information on doing something like this in a 3rd gen 4Runner.
I have a 98 Limited 4Runner (4x4) and I want to replace the bench seat in the back with 2 bucket seats somehow. I know this will take some custom magic fab work but I was wondering if anyone out there has attempted this or actually done it and can provide some direction. Im open to style of bucket seat or manufacturer, I have seat covers on the front and will probably just get the same covers for the back buckets once i find and install them?
That in mind, any thoughts? Pictures? tricks? I appreciate anyone who can point me in the right direction. Once I get the job done ill be happy to post pics for anyone else interested in doing something like this. While on the topic, I have a 50/50 rear bench from my 98 4Runner for sale or trade, leather and in great condition (tan)? And im looking for bucket seats? Thanks everyone. Im in Orange County, CA.

I will be doing this in my 90 4Runner. I have yet to it but I will incorporate it into my interior cage. Putting racing seats back there and putting in a center console. Good luck.

LCDs in the head rests had indeed crossed my mind. I like the idea of an additional center console too, maybe work the dvd player into the console. Im going to upgrade my audio once i get the seats the way I want them too. The list keeps getting longer. haha.

Buckets
I never thought of it but if u do it I might follow that would be bitchen using the same seat OEM would make it look totally uniform and then they could recline but the area undersea of course would be a challenge I think it may be to high and people may hit there head but I am not sure? I hope u do this soon so I can start saving for the same mod along with 50 others here at Yotatech

The floor under 3rd gen rear seats is about 6 inches higher, stock probably wouldn't work. Maybe a Wrangler type seat? Note the height from the floor:
