What would I need to bring the rear of my 4Runner up level with the front, without going higher?

I can garantee you're not the first with this question

 

Lots of options. You can get yours rearched (re-arced? re---- somethinged?), call Allcan spring and have some built, a 2" lift block (not recommended for long term), pull a set out of an 89 (and older) from a junk yard and swap them in if they aren't ruined. Heck you could even buy longer shackles.

Another option is adding coils. I think you can get 12" coils rated at 100lb's per inch that will level the rig without lifting, perhaps 90lb coils?

Our leaf springs tend to die after about 20 years, I have no idea why Toyota didn't factor this in when building a rig that would do 300,000+++ miles in hard terrain. I guess they dropped the ball there, I'll forgive them for now.

 

Do like I did and buy a new set of springs and shocks. With the shell on it sits level and sits a little higher in the rear with the top off.

 

Why do toyotas start to sag? I know springs wear out, but i never see it with any other truck out there. It seems to be a trademark toyota thing.

Add-a-leafs work really well too.

 

What year is the vehicle, in other words do you have leaf or coils in the rear ?

95, so coils.

 

I have sag on my 95 too.

 

I'm thinking I'll most likely just put some new springs in there, not sure if OEM or who else sells them.

 

Or maybe just some spacers, depends how much springs are.

 

Just get a set of Moog springs. NAPA, for one, sells 'em.
IIRC they are aroung $60.00 ~ $80.00
I put s set in mine and they've been fine.

Nothing else lasts long enough to show saggy springs

 

Air bags

 

As much as I would like airbags for adjustable ride height, I'm afraid of blowing them offroad. I take washes pretty fast (~40mph) and every once in awhile I don't see a rut or two and the back end bucks quite a bit.

If you don't do high speed off roading airbags are a good way to go I'd think, but they're just not for me.

Moog sells replacement coils that are OEM replacement (thus, no lift).

 

Which is exactly what nevermore1701 asked for.
These coils will bring the rear back up to stock height.
