W56-a bolt up in a 88 4runner??

I have a question about the ability of a w56-a transmission to be able to bolt up correctly to a 1988 4runner.

i read on marlin that the w56b was made on the 86-88s and that the transfer case will only bolt up to a w56b.

is this incorrect? can a w56a tranny bolt correctly up to a tcase on a 1988?

i just don't want to buy a w56a and not be able to bolt on the t-case.

thank you for all your help,

robby.

Only difference between W56A and W56B is the internal gearing.
