Braking torques front axle

Braking torques front axle
Hey guys. Got a technical question. I just bought my second 4runner - upgraded from a 98 2wd to a 00 4wd. Whenever I brake in 2 High, the transfer case and transmission seem to torque against each other. If I brake hard, you can see the 4wd shifter move forward about a half inch and the transmission shifter move backwards about a half inch. Then when I let off quickly after being stopped for a second you can feel the transmission/transfer case drop a little bit when it becomes untorqued. Anybody got any suggestions? - Thanks - newbie Ben

Ill check that. My old one did that a little too when I would gas it hard. But what I cant figure out is, if the front axles are dissengaged from the transfer case then why would braking affect torque on the transfer case?? also, the brakes should only generate force between the wheel and the ground. The harder I brake the more the transfer case and transmission bind up.
