What to know when buying an already swapped toyota?
I am looking to buy a 85 Toyota SR5 pickup with a 350 small block and chevy tranny. Has a solid front axel and $6000 invested in labor and parts in the conversion. This guy rebuilt the automatic tranny himself, kept the stock transfer case, and had the gears changed in the front and rear differentials to 4.88 for the 33in tires. He is selling it for $2500.
I am familiar with the 350 engine, but what should I know before I think about purchasing this truck?
What problems are common with these swaps?
What necessaty conversion parts and adapters should i look for when inspecting the truck?
Are there ceratin problems with the chassis that occur with the swap?
the transfer case??
I really want this truck, but Is it worth the trouble with getting it up and running again, or am I wasting my time???
