removing 89 truck fenders

How do you remove the fenders? Is it as simple as removing the couple of bolts under the hood and under the wheel well? That seems too simple, so there's got to be a catch.

To remove the fenders open the hood and remove the bolts across the top of the fender, next remove the fender corner light, there are one or two fender bolts behind it, the go to the bottom of the fender by the door, there are two bolts there, there are also some bolts that hold the wheel well liner to the fender that need to be removed.

Theres also one behind the bumper end that is a pain in the ass to get to if you don't want to take the bumper end off.

I found all of the bolts but that one. Since I cant see it, I think it would be way easier to just remove the whole bumper.

Anyone know where the bolt is specifically or know of a trick on getting to it?

I took off the bumper, it was getting replaced anyway. I can't remember right where it is though. Sorry...

it's the "flange" mount bolt ...
I have a picture somewhere .. and will find it if you need ? but now that you have identified it though , I doubt you need a pic ..

so ..

what I do in my shop is "squirt" a bunch a penitrating fluid on to the bumper mount bolts (back side) , loosten enough so you have some "wiggle room" and break the bolts from there .. cuz usually , they arent comming out !

always requires drilling and tapping .
