95 4Runner Seat Covers

1st let me start off by saying it's great to be back on the boards and to own a toyota again. I have been away from toyotas now for the past 3 years due lack of accessability and finances. I just recently ( 2 days ago ) picked up a 95 4Runner and looking to upgrade a few parts.

I have been looking around the past couple hours, trying to do search after search, but with no avail for seat covers. I found a couple of people talking about Wet Okale(sp), but those really aren't in my price range right now. I am looking for something waterproof, maybe neoprene, but can handle day to day abuse, a kid, and still last for a few years before needing to be replaced. I was hoping to find something front and rear for around $200, but need some help. If I can only get some fronts then that's ok too as I do have leather and the back seats aren't nearly as bad as the front. In fact, the rears look new 8-).

What places can I look? Websites? Links? Info Please!

Thanks for your help and I will be posting some pictures and more info on the 4Runner and buildup in a thread I'm going to start over this weekend.

Thanks in Advanced

your not going to find anything waterproof that will be in your price range...

hmm... unless you wrap your seats in plastic bags and duct tape, THEN get some 15 dollar seat covers from kragens...

come on now guys/gals. you can't tell me that there isn't a website that someone knows or anything for some seat covers for around $100?

how about somewhere to buy cloth seats? If I'm going to spend that much money to have cloth type seats I might as well just buy some and swap them out.

I have a set of RealTree camo seat covers. I 'm not sure about water proof but they have held up pretty well and they are machine washable. My wife bought them on E-Bay I think $30. for the front $30.00 for the back. I have my dogs in the runner all the time and haven't had a single problem with them. But camo may not be your thing?

I just bought some Walmart seat covers for $20 bucks each. They are not waterproof but they will "hold" the water while I quickly wipe it up so it doesn't soak into the seat. I have the gray/black canvas type in my other truck and they have held up very well. They have fairly useless pockets on the back also. Stuff has been spilled but has not soaked through. The ones I got the other day for my 4Runner are "leather-like" and I think I'm gonna take them back and get the canvas ones. In my attempt to subdue the very red interior I purchased the red/black color. They give the term "ghetto" a whole new meaning.

VERY fake! Autozone and Walmart had them. They were $24.99 each I think. I just can't justify spending $100+ on seat covers although they would certainly look and fit better. I noticed 4wheelparts.com has a good variety of seat covers that are $100-$200 range.

To get the cover to fit better, I suggest taking the seat out (four bolts), removing the plastic siding on the seats and properly tightning down the seat cover. This will take only about 15 minutes per seat but the difference is noticeably better. Not so ghetto.
