Okay, I have a fuel leak, in addition to another potentially more costly problem listed in another thread, and I am not sure where. I smell it when the engine is running and usually moving right after a start. The a/c is on and using only recirculated air. It also cranks for awhile before starting after sitting for any length of time, the longer it sits, the longer it takes to start (good indication of a leak I think as well).

So here is part of the question. If I leave the key on will that turn on the fuel pump and pressurize the system? Does the pressure increase as the RPM's increase?

Now I don't see anything obvious when I stop and have not had a chance to investigate after it cools off. I am afraid it may be on the fuel rail or even an injector and may have to pull the intake to verify but am not sure there will be enough pressure in the line to find a leak without the engine running. Also the leak may be small enough that it appears as an atomizing mist rather than a drip. Without using a lighter and blowing my self to kindom come

What do you folks suggest? I don't think soapy watter will work on a liquid.
