Spare steel rim and Tundra brake

Hi, from what I researched here, it seems that the 16"x7" 18 holes steel rim that we have on our 4runner won't fit if Tundra brake is on. It that absolute? What are my fixes? I've already collected 3 rims, and am thinking about the Tundra brake later on. Am I going to have a problem for sure then? Tks.

The stock spare tire steel wheel (is that the wheel you're talking about?) will not fit over the 231mm tundra caliper. I believe that is the only steel wheel vs Tundra Caliper question that has been confirmed here on Yotatech. I'm not sure how you'll make out if you're using 199mm calipers. There are enough people on here that have done the swap with 199mm calipers, though, so you should be able to get an answer.

...Except if he was asking about stock steel wheels... which he was.

Thanks GSGALLANT, Yes, I am talking about the "black spare tire steel wheel" not the regular stock wheel, I think I would want 199mm calipers anyway, just want to be sure that 199mm won't have any problems with the steel wheel. because I've already got my hands on 3 steel wheels.

Went through these two threads but still not sure if the question got answered.

To bring this up and give a definitive answer... Maybe. I tested this out with my spare and the 199mm tundra calipers and everything works fine w/o rubbing. I cannot say this is the case with the 213mm ones, but looking at the shape of the steel wheel and comparing it with the split-3 aluminum wheels, it would venture a guess that they too would probably fit, as the area that is ground down on the aluminums are not present on the steel ones. Don't take this as gospel though.

Edit: The post by GSGALLANT states the 213mm caliper will not work with the spare wheels.

My suggestion would be to go with the 199mm. Not a whole lot of difference between the two other than size.
