Hey guys! It's been days since I've been on here. But in the meantime, I have installed a few things. To start off, I have a 1995.5 Tacoma w/ a 2" body lift, and 3" SKYJACKER suspension lift. My trucks been on hold for the last few months but now it's sunny out and I'm back in action. Just getting bored, and looking for some new suggestions...? Maybe new tires? I have a big CV joint leak problem that I have to solve (I've been putting it off) but other than that, truck runs like a top. 215,000 original miles (did timing belt at 195,000) and change oil every 3500 (oil comes out gold as if it just came out the bottle). Anyways, just looking fo some ideas. Thanks for all the help in advance and a few questions/pics below!

Questions:
1.) I have a 3" skyjacker suspension lift (struts/add-a-leaf), is it really 3"? Seriouslys seems like it worked out to be 2ish" I think?
2.)What could I do to fix CV joint leakage problem?
3.) What size tires do you guys reccomend with "5 inches" of lift?

Looks good! I would go locker roll bars. Roll bars first probably....ya know for safety.

 

Haha yes was thinking about roll bars. Was also debating on rock sliders and , marlin bumpers

 

Marlin makes bumpers for taco's since when ?

 

I would go with lockers and sliders. That's about all I want for my 96 xcab.

 

I think the tires you have on there now look good. That being said...a locker would get you anywhere you want to go and trail armor will give you the confidence to do it. Btw Nice lookin truck. I love the 95.5s It was my first toyota truck. the front of them looks much better than the later years in my opinion. roll bars are sweet too but they serve little function if you ask me and they take up a lot of bed space.

Good advice How are the TRD lockers any body know? Those are 32's on there now but want to go a little bit bigger soon. Any suggestions?

 

you running a stock (4.10?) third? you may need a 4.33 or 4.56 for the bigger tires, but decide that before you lock it.

 

Yea running stock everything. Truck has lots of power, couldnt tell a difference with the 32's. Thinking just maybe 33's

 

i think it would look perfect with 33s.

 

I am planing 33/10.5's for my next set of tires to save on tire weight and to still be able to run the stock rims. That would give a small increase in tire size, but not hurt your power too much. My motivation for getting a locker is that I've been followed through some pretty good trails by a locked DC prerunner.

 

I've been running 285/75R16's (33's, for all intents and purposes) for almost 2 years now. Other than having to use the OD button (auto tranny) a little more on long distance trips, I would say I hardly felt any difference. More than enough power.

I say go for it. Any power loss is minimal, and that extra inch of clearance can mean a lot...

I measured the space between my tire and fender and I have exacyly 4" on clearnace between the 2. I have 32's right now, so 33's should fit fine correct?

 

Well, yes and no. You also have to consider the rim that you're running. If you get 33 x 12.50's, you may have rubbing on your fenders, or frame, or even the A-arms, unless you have a rim that has the right backspacing. A narrower 33 gives you the height advantage, but without the width and added weight.

Do you know what the backspacing is on the rims you're running now?

Just by looking at the pictures, if you went with a 33 x 10.50, you won't have any big issues. You might have to clearance the inside of the fenders a little, but that's not that big of a deal.

Hey my uncle just gave me a set of 63" chevys. Does any one know if and how much lift they will add?

 

i run 33s with very little notice in power loss also.
