Hi. I bought a 91 4runner a few weeks ago, and have been fixing stuff as I go. I'm getting around to the radio. The radio was stripped when I bought it. I got a radio and a Toyota wiring harness from Auto zone, but the wiring harness doesn't match up to the connections in my truck. One clip does, but the other connection on the wiring harness is too small. There is a blue connector in my truck with 6 pin slots on top and and 4 on bottom, and the other is 6+4 but it white and thicker.

Do you think the previous owner switched the connectors? Should I get new connectors and switch them back, or what?

My son and I put a new JVC radio into his Camry last year and the connectors weren't proper either. We ended up using the FSM wiring diagram and the instruction sheet from the radio and spliced each individual wire using crimp connectors. Everything works great, even the electric extending antenna. It wasn't hard and the instructions made it clear. That's the way I would go if I were you.
