Stock Parking Lamp is 5W - PIAA W2 is 18W but fits, Is this okay?

I was just wondering if it is okay to run PIAA W2 lamps (rated at 18W) for the parking lights on a 3rd Gen Runner even though the stock bulb is only rated at 5W. It fits fine and I know other people have run them on here because I found some old threads discussing the bulbs, but I just wanted to make sure this won't damage the wiring or systems running up to the parking lamps. I'm sorry if this is a completely newbie question, I'm new to this whole thing.

I don't see a problem.....The wiring should be big enough.

except...

Instead of drawing less than 1/2 amp per bulb, you will be drawing 1.5 amps per bulb. You may run into fuse problems. So 4 bulbs, would net you 4+ extra amps of draw.

I run 18W bulbs in my front parking lights, have been for about 2 years. No problems with anything, and I kind of like the brighter lights. I only did it because I accidently picked up the wrong bulbs in the store and couldn't be bothered taking them back.

Well I've been running them for 2 days now and I haven't had any trouble, plus they are a lot brighter and a great color. I felt the wiring after I had them on for about 2 hours and it wasn't even hot, so I don't think that is a concern, and I haven't had any fuse issues either so I'm just gonna run 'em!
