I have a 1986 toyota 4runner with a 22re there is 330,000 miles on the body and 40k or so on the rebuild. for some reason it started cutting out every now and then but only for a short few seconds. occasionally it will backfire and the check engine light will flash. it is progressively getting worse and more frequent. seems like it does it more when it is under a load. I replaced the fuel filter that wasnt it. I checked the timing and tried playing around a little with it and it still does it I had it in the auto shop and they said that there were just to many things it could be to pinpont it. I am asking anybody who has ever had or heard about a problem such as this to lend me some advice!!
