New 285/75r16's!

After humming and hawing about tires I finally bit the bullet and went with a set of 285/75r16 (aka 33x11.25) Cooper Discoverer S/T's. I've only been on them for a day but they are quite quiet on the road for the aggressive tread pattern. I'm running a toytect BJ spacer up front and their AAL's in the back. I have a very slight rub on the inner fender if the suspension compresses when turning of which I'll TLC the fender liner to fix. They're mounted on 16x8 aluminum wheels, -7 offset. I have no clearance issues with the upper control arm. They stick out maybe an inch in the front and a half inch out back. I'm planning on adding a set of bushwacker extend-a-fender flares to cover them. You could definitely get away without the flares but I want to save my paint. I've never checked the gear ratio in my truck but I'd guess it is only a 4.10. I can feel the bigger tire but I don't think it is enough difference to make me switch to the 4.88's. We'll see how the fuel mileage and highway hills are! So far I'm really happy with them, I love the stance. I always thought the 10.5 wide 33's were too skinny and the 12.5's too wide so these are just perfect for me. The 16" wheel opens are world of possibilities, ha ha!

Very nice. Love the truck.

I hope you have better luck with Cooper. I had a pair and they only lasted about 1.5 years. They were on a full size Blazer though.

Yeah, hope they last. The reviews I've read were pretty decent and they were a bit cheaper than the BFG AT's.

Ya but I bet BFG last about 3 times longer. Big bucks though. I like the tread pattern on those Coopers though.
