Broken sensor near oil filter

Wasn't paying close enough attention today and broke a gray sensor off that was near the oil filter. The sensor was gray with two silver plates with a spring between them.

Any ideas what sensor this is? Repercussions of it being broken?

Thanks

sounds like your oil pressure dumby light switch. no adverse effects as long as its not leaking, though you wont have a dumby light. i would just go get an actual oil pressure gauge from an autoparts store and it install it where the sensor was, probably costs less and way more efffective.

Did you replace it or leave it? I've left it so far with no ill effects noticed. My wife divorced me since then but I don't think its related... (j/k)

I changed mine out..thinking it was the reason my low pressur elight was on..it was 20 bucks. But the bad part is if its on the 4cyl. I had to remove the a/c compressor and bracket to get it off. But I also did not have a deep well metric socket that fit it..but if I did in the location it is it looked like it would have been sorta hard to get any leverage on the ratchet.
