air filter housing swap

well i busted my air filter / housing when i crashed, but my buddy was able to give me his old air filter from his 01? tacoma. It looks nothing like mine, but i dont want to have to go out and buy another one. Any ideas?

What's your question? On the 22RE, the 1988 air box doesn't fit a 1990 as the box intakes take a different route to below the headlight. I'm not surprised a Taco air box doesn't fit.

You could get an open element filter.

His 01 tacoma box will not fit your 94 truck. The airflow meter has no where to bolt to, so without some major modification, it won't work.

Just order one from a wrecking yard, you can typcially get those older boxes for really cheap.

or get a 10 dollar adapter from autozone and run an open air element like matt said...

less restriction and meaner sound...
