i have a 88 yota pickup with a 22re in it an it started knocking an the timing chain was making noises. so i tore it down to day an it needs main bearings an rod bearings an a crank i was wonder where the best place would be 2 buy them.

ok cause i didn't no if it would be ok to get thim at advance or somthing like that or not.

 

needing bearings does not necessarily mean you need a new crank or rods.... you get a new crank when you can't turn the mains or rod journals properly.

 

my dad was a maniac but he hasn't worked on very many yotas so he told me 2 try 2 find out where 2 get the parts. but he took the main caps off an the bearings was wore about completely out an it had scarred the crank pretty bad but it could probably be turned but there no one around here that dose that stuff.

 

have to ask-
is it easier to type git instead of get? and barrings instead of bearings?
... and are your sure it's not "scarred" instead of "scared" (as if the crank is afraid of something?)

 

also i got the metal timing chain guides an the bolt holes an the bolts don't fit in the holes do you have to buy new bolts or what.

 

Chain does make alot of knocking when guides get worn. I would reaplce chain a guides first before anything and see but if you already got the bottom of the motor out then maybe bearings as well. But you sould not need a new crank. You can get them turned you know for cheaper than a new one.

 

yea i replace them but i couldn't find out how 2 put the metal ones in there so i put the stock kind back in it. but i already have the bottom in out of it an the bearings do need replaced. dose any 1 have an idea of how much it would cost 2 have it turned.

wtf i wasn't wanting to go back to English class, i was asking a question about a motor in my truck.

 

If you don't want to have a local machine shop grind your crank, you can buy one from someone like 22re.com. A reground crank with a bearing set to match is on the order of $170 with a $150 core charge.

If you just want to have your crank twisted, you appear to be in the right place.

As for the problem with your timing chain guides, I'm with Abe -- I can't figure out what the question is. If it is, as I guess, that something doesn't fit, contact the people that sold it to you -- it should fit.
