Angry OK another head gasket question

Called the Toyota 800# and the HG had not been done! That is the good news. Took it into the dealer with no problems. Got a phone call after they took it apart saying that they want to have to head resurfaced and a valve job done on the heads, at a cost of 1500.00 dollars! I believe that is covered on the SSCVO6 recall. Anyone that has been through this before with a dealer your input would be greatly appericated.

I had the same situation with my 4Runner. The dealer told me the recall was over.

Okay, an update on the 4runner. Toyota is going to cover the head gasket and damaged parts due to the head gasket failing. They suggested and bunch of other work to be done while the motor was apart. Maintenance, timeing belt, water pump, ect. All of which were in good condition. So we'll see in two days when I get the runner back.

I called the number and I know someone that works there and was trying to get transferred but the guy was a dick and would'nt do it. I got upset with him and decided not to tell him my problem because he was annoyed with me already. I'll try later. Anybody else try it?

Sooo, you didn't have the timing belt or water pump done?

I'd do it once you get it back...

Well I'd say just call 'em up and say "I just wanted to know if the head gasket recall had been done on my truck; the VIN is XXX" and when they say it hasnt then act like your dont know so much about cars and say that you may not buy another Toyota if they are going to fail like this. lol. Give 'em a hard time, the worst they can do is say no.
