So I picked up a turbo 22rte out of a 2wd truck, and when I went to put my 4wd oil pan on, I noticed that the thin metal fin inside the oil pan that wraps around the oil pump is different. the 4wd pan won't fit on the motor. it has oil pump clearence issues i guess.

Are 4wd and 2wd oil pumps different? are there varying 4wd 22re oil pans??
do i need a new oil pan or a new oil pump???

 

Don't you need the 4wd oil pickup as well?

 

Use the 4x4 pan and pickup as annoyingrob said. I had to do this when I put a '94 2wd in my '88 4x4.

cool, i didn't realize that was called an oil pick up, and that it had to be swapped too. Seems easy enough. thanks for the help!
