Berryman B12 SAVED my 1,100 mile road trip
So on Friday Dec 26th I started driving from Chicago to Salida CO. I encountered ice storms, wind storms, fog and snow along the way and they slowed me down, but didn't stop me. What DID stop me was my truck stalling/surging/losing power at 55 mph and above. I thought I had fixed the problem with a carb rebuild last month and had not had any new problems:

It came back only a few hundred miles into the trip. So I stopped at a friendly mechanics shop, Dave's in Prairie City, Iowa. They tossed around the idea that the fuel sock/pickup was having a problem getting fuel to the fuel pump. My truck had sat for 10 years before I bought it so tank rust was a possible issue. They were supposed to be off that day because of the holiday and didn't have time to drop my tank, and do all the work. They used some compressed air into the fuel line at the filter, hoping to dislodge some debris. So I thanked them and went on my way hoping that solved the problem temporarily. It did not. I drove (slowly) to Des Moines where I picked up a can of Berryman B12 fuel additive. Using a few cans I drove the next 800 miles trouble free to Salid, CO. I am sure it is not a permanent fix but this stuff kept me from driving the truck off of a cliff in frustration. Just thought I should share that if you find yourself in a similar situation-Abe.
