Parking/dash lights will not turn off.

Hey guys,
I have a 95' Runner and today when I got home I noticed my brake lights were still on even though my light switch was turned all the way off. The dash lights were also on and they wont turn off and the buzzing sound wont go off either. So for now I just unhooked the battery. Lights work when I turn them on but dash/parking lights stay on.

So I was wondering if any of you knew what the problem is or could be so I could get this fixed... some sort of wiring short.

Thanks,
DC

We checked it out today and replaced/ checked the brake bulbs. When the car is turned off and the lights are switch is off the brake lights either stay on or flicker off and on.
Am thinking it could be a wiring issue maybe a wire got rubbed through and is touching some metal or something.
Or maybe the switch is broken or worn.

If there as a short in the wiring how would I go about finding where the short is?

Any Ideas would be appreciated,
DC

A tone tester would be a good thing to find a short if thats what your thinking...Itlll send frequency through the wire and youll here a ringing noise at the short...

Grumble, grumble, grumble...

Same problem. 8 hours. ripped out entire alarm system (that I had installed) and then I decided to check out this forum... It was the trailer wiring...

I feel your pain. I just had my back end ripped up for a month to eliminate the 6 pin to 4 pin wiring converter "black box"

spliced in a 4 pin with LED lights to indicate working functions. So much easier now to tell where exactly at the trouble is.

Hopkins #480055 I believe is the correct part number. (for my fitment)
