95 3zve valve covers

Today while putting my valve covers on after a gasket change, I notice nearly none of the bolts tighten all the way down. They get rather snugg but the just keep turning. There was only 1-2 bolts that felt as if they tightened correclty. Is this normal for valve covers, or should the bolts stop turning when fully tightened?

What where you torquing the bolts down too. Sounds like they may be stripped, might be why you had leaks..

I agree with Jay. They sound stripped.

Stripped. Not alot of fun to fix, especially in truck.

i would recomend to count the rotations of a tight one

they should be the same, and not more than 1 extra rotation..if they keep on spinning, then the above posts of stripped is the issue..

not terrible, worse has happened..but its good to know before you start it back up.
