Hi all,

This weekend I was changing oil and noticed this metal band (red arrows) hanging on the DS axle shaft.



I'm thinking it is an old boot clamp that the mechanic forgot to remove when they replaced the DS cv boots. (yellow arrow).

I'd just like someone to confirm if they have a clamp where the shaft meets the diff, which is basically right where that loose clamp is sitting. If so, I need to get a new one on there! I checked the PS and there's not one in that spot, another reason I think its a leftover.

 

definately a left over. i do have a taco and have found 4runners to be very different, but it wouldnt make any sense for it to be anything else.

 

That's what I was hoping for...
