Aftermarket Axles, anybody running them?
I'm talking about axles like this
http://www.4x4review.com/cool-prod/STrax-Spider9.asp
I know there's several others, but I'm too lazy to search for them right now.
I don't think I've ever seen anyone running these front or rear. Even the buggy guys I've seen out on the trail are running some kind of junkyard axle.
I would imagine they would have their good side, or they wouldn't make them. But does the good outweight the bad? I'm looking at allot of options for what I want to do. Including converting to coils. Well first off I need a SAS. So that's why I thought of this. My thoughts were it might be easier to convert to coils, as there's less cutting needed. Plus you are starting with a stronger base, less gusseting would be needed.
But after searching and finding nothing, I thought I would ask.
Is it even worth thinking about? Obvisouly the stock housing is legendary and is probally more than strong enough for anything I can throw at it.
You know how it is... while I'm in there I might as well....
What do you guys think/heard?

Friend has one in his 97 4runner.
The only downside is $$$$, it cost a lot trust me.
That is his build up
