Uh, what is it and where does it go?

Hey guys, Just dropped in the new engine(rebuilt) hooking it up and at the bottom of the box is two things, the one is the ground not sure where its suppose to go???

And the other thing???

Looks like an oil pressure sending unit and the ground strap from the engine block to the fire wall I'm guessing.

Yep, that is a ground strap from the fire wall to the rear engine hook.

the round thing is the oil press sending unit for a guage, it goes right under the oil filter

X2 on the oil pressure sender. Throw it away and get a mechanical gage.

hmm. actually that's a hard one. I coulda sworn the "idiot light" unit was a lot smaller, like damn near the size of a 18mm bolt head or so. That to me looks more like the actual gauge-gauge sending unit.

That's the real gauge sending unit, the one you need to use with an SR5 gauge cluster.

You think your confused??? I've been over the truck 100 times and have never found a spot for a ruler to go!
