[Help] Need to take trim off, how?

Hey guys,
I bought 2 Toyota OEM mud flaps for the front of my 02. I'm thinking a few bolts and its on, well thats mostly true EXCEPT there is some sort of rivet type thingy-m-bob that I'm not sure how to take out. If you're looking at the front wheel well trim, underneath the rear part is where its at. Before I just start cuttin', sawin', yankin', etc... I wanted to know if there is a simple way of taking out the rivet. The guy at the dealership said "drill it", but that can't be right, or is it?

In the "bolts" bag, there what appears to be a new rivet with a metal stick extending from it that is the replacement.

Has anyone taken those out before? I was hoping to get these flaps on by the weekend. Oh, and I had additional pictures but flickr says upgrade for more bandwidth lmao. I can go elsewhere to post them if you need them.

Thoroughly embarassed,
Rob

Yup, thats a rivit. So, you will have to drill it out.

Super easy, its made of aluminum so use a small drill bit and press light.

Thanks Coug. As for drilling, how far am I drilling in? Is it just far enough so that I could use pliers to grab on to the drill bit and pull it out? Am I using a drill bit slightly larger than the hole or one that matches up?

You only need to drill the head off, then it will fall apart. use a slightly larger one.
