has anyone paid to have their 3.4 swap done? I'd love to know more about where you had it done. I'm curious about people who'd be willing and able to do a really clean 3.4 swap and where they might be located geographically.

I think most will tell you it would be impractical to have a shop do a swap for you... so much money in labor.

However, I believe ORS in CO will do complete swaps for customers.

Been in conversation with a local Toyota/Lexus Master Tech who loves wheeling about this as a possible option for 2009. We have 2 in the beginning stages now...one his, one mine.

Cost can vary from $2 to $4 K depending on how much you pay for the parts and which vehicle is the recipient.

pay for a 3.4 swap

'morning Elvota and waskilly! elvota yes you are 100% correct I agree with you, to have a swap done in a shop would be just prohibitively expensive. Even ORS when I emailed them, sent me a really steep estimate approaching $10K. I am thinking about waskilly's plan, finding a mastertech who loves wheeling and having this done OUTSIDE the shop as a side project by a professional.
any ideas about what would be a reasonable timeframe/cost to propose to a professional for a swap as an outside project would be great

I did Rayl82's, and if I were to do it for someone else, it would probably be in the $1000 range. that is with them buying parts.

if you want something done right, do it yourself. My point of view anyway
