Price for Used 3.0

Hi All,
I need a 3.0 and found one for $700 used at a salvage yard. Is this a fair price especially since it has 100,000+ miles? There is also one for $300 but has top end noise, which should I go for?

Jason

Wow! $700.00 for a weak engine with over 100K.

Why not just go for the 3.4???? Better engine for roughly the same price. Or even a Supra swap?

With whatever you choose good luck.

youd be suprised, as long as the engine still runs well it will get decent money. not everyone out there knows you can put a different engine in your car than the one it came with, so if they have major engine problems they have the same one put back in. we lucky ones around here know better though

Ok, I know about engine swaps. I agree 3.4 is a million times better. My question then would be how does the wiring for the motors differ? Would I have to change the wiring and the computer? Does anyone have a 3.4 laying around? I've found plenty of 22re's 2 3.0's and asked about the 3.4 but haven't found any.

Post Chevrolet Vortec V6

I have a Toy 3.slow that has 203k & limping on its last leg. I was going to go do it in at PNWYJ03 but it was cancelled. So here I am pavement pounding til it stops breathing. I want a Chevy Vortec but am not sure on the compatibility of it into my 4Runner. Any ideas?

Read through this you'd be amazed at how easy it is.
