Like the title says, can I use a pump off a 3.4 on my 3.0 without major modification? Driving the 4runner around with no power steering is getting to be annoying (although i don't have to go to the gym...) and I can score a pump off of a 3.4 for free.

 

If you can get it for free why not just see if you cant put it in. If it bolts right up it will work for you if not then nope

No, it will not bolt straight up.

 

And since the 3.4 has rack and pinion vs recirculating ball, I would doubt the flow and pressures are right.

Remanned PS pumps are pretty cheap...

 

yeah, thats what i figured... totally forgot about the different steering setups too... guess i'll have to keep my fingers crossed, eyes open and my biceps ripped for the time being.
