I got questions about wat to do with my yota

I hae a 1990 yota

with a 3.0 v6

I want to put a 3.4 v6 in it.

And 4:88 Running gears. Front and back.

How much you think that whole swap would cost? I'd do myself just want a decent price i should think about paying.

Read and read this Folder on 3.4 Swaps:
https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f160/

Price for the swap all depends on what you find. If I was going to do the swap I would buy a wrecked truck so I had all the crap right there.

Read this on Chevy Spring Swaps:
http://pirate4x4.com/forum/showthrea...evy+spring+faq

Those two links will give you all the information you need.

edit: also update your profile to show your location, other members might be able to point you towards some deals

Chevy springs themselves offer about 2 inches of lift over stock......

I would guess a good running 3.4 to be around 2500-3000..you will need all the accessories, computer, intake, wiring harnesses and junk....

Used 488 thirds are probably around 500 bucks for a pair....

I would probably buy a donor wrecked truck like ocdropzone said...makes it a lot easier...especially if you are doing an auto to manual swap too

If you can find them used 4.88 gears (whole third members) will cost you about $250-300 each, if you buy from an individual. From a wrecker, they cost more.

I know nothing about 3.4 swaps.

Ditch the lift, get lockers instead, they are more useful off road. Also, my I suggest 33x10.5 tires instead, they will likely give better traction as well as reducing wear on the steering components. Click to see why narrow tires are better

I drive on the road alot. its also my daily rig. so i dont wanna do lockers really.

Yeah a 3.4 is known mostly.

Those chevy springs i can probably get from a friend i know a grip of people with chevys.

And im goin to get 35's idk what tires yet. But yeah i know narrow tires help.

Thanks.

Anyone know where a good place to look for wrecked rigs are?
