First off I would like to thank everyone who takes time to come into these 'please help me' threads and supplies knowledge and Toyota know how. I have benefited from it in the past and really appreciate it. As a public school teacher taking the truck to the repair shop all the time is not an option on my salary.

Now the issue at hand. I own a 1986 Toyota Truck, 22RE but previous owner pulled the AC and PS and FI off. I am putting the AC back in from items I have purchased/scrounged. I searched the forum and didn't find anything helping me.

-Mounted compressor bracket fine
-Mounted the condenser and the accumulator fine.
-Mounted the AC compressor. 3 of the 4 holes lined up correctly to the mounting bracket but the top left bolt hole on the compressor was nowhere near the mounting bracket hole. My guess is I have the wrong year compressor but the compressor pulley lines up perfectly to the 2nd pulley on my engine so I think it will work.
-NEED A TENSION PULLEY. IF ANYONE HAS ONE I'LL PAY.

I am unsure where the 2 hoses that come off the compressor go? I have taken pictures of it all connections and labeled the connections to make it easy for someone to instruct me where to route what.

FYI- I am not worried about heat at this time, just cold air.

Please as questions if I did not make something clear and I will restate or take more pictures to facilitate this project.

Hose outlet and inlet between my radiator and my grill.

 

A) evaporator high pressure inlet. Connects to condensor up front via an alum hardline.

B) evaporator low pressure outlet. To compresser low side (suction) via rubber hose (D).

C) condensation drain. pokes thru hole in lower firewall. drains on the ground.

D) Compressor suction line. goes to B.

E) Compressor outlet (high-pressure). goes to condensor inlet (F) under grill.

F) Condensor inlet to compressor (E)

H & I) looks like hardline between condensor and evaporator. (A and G) (Only fits one way.)

You'll need new o-rings for everything.

 

Not sure just wanted to let you know you have a 22r, not 22re =)

E from compressor to F (condenser)
D from compressor to B (evaporator)
A (evaporator) to H at one end of line to I at other end of line and then into G (condenser)

No idea what G is unless its just a condensation hose that exits onto the ground

 

InternetRoadkill- where would I get new o-rings? Napa, Checker Auto or a toyota place? They a common universal o-ring?

1 more question-

Routed the aluminum line to the evaporator. Both connection ends are locked tight and will nto spin. I tried working them with a set of pliers and the pipe begins to bend. Which one of these *should* spin, I or H?

 

HAha, and what makes you so certain I have a R and not an RE? The carb? My engine was initially an RE I believe and the previous owner pulled the intake, injectors and such and left me with a carb as a replacement. My valve cover has a fancy RE sticker on it.

 

Solved problem. Took entire tube off and spun it onto the other one coming through the grill. Kinda goofy way of doing it but the connections were seized.

 

Wasn't the same head used for 22r and RE?
I know my buddy has a 20R head on his 22R...

PartsAmerica (Kragen/Checker/Schuck's) list the Factory Air(tm) O-ring/Gasket set for $9.59 (Part #26750), but has to be ordered.
