I use my truck as a DD but often hit trails or move stuff around on job sites. I'd love to beef up the front suspension (it seams really week compared to the coilover stock setup on the tacoma i used to own).

I run 32's but have no desire to lift it. Would simply throwing some new shocks like rancho 5000's or the properly fitting bilstein do anything?

 

There really is no "beefing up" the IFS, as it is strongest in stock form (unless you want to start spending big bucks on totalchaos or similar stuff). You could put better shocks, maybe consider heavier duty torsion bars, they also make a truss, but I forgot who makes it, maybe someone will chime in. But like I said there isn't much to make the IFS stronger.

 

Rear IFS Truss from Sonoran steel, Idler Arm gusset from Downey, Bilsteins or OME for the shocks. The best thing you can do is leave it as stock as possible (except for the gusset and brace), I've learned that lesson the hard way and I'm still paying for it.

Get the truss from Steve (Sonoran Steel), you just need to keep an eye out for when he's making a batch because he doesn't stock them. Think he makes them a couple times a year and in small groups (12)

the rear ifs truss mounts between the rear lower control arm mounts at the rear of the ifs.

 

Like everyone else says, get the IFS truss (maybe a junkyard front one will fit on the back to save money?)
Get low profile polyurathane bump stops
and a Bud Built skid plate
