Power steering pump- question about the vacuum lines

Hey guys I'm in the process of changing out a power steering pump on my 94 V6 4runner. One of the nipples broke off the vacuum valve so I had to go to the junkyard to replace it. The guy there told me to use one of the metal ones and said they work exactly the same as the plastic type only they're obviously more durable. The problem that I have now is that I no longer know which hose hooks up to which nipple. So my question is, since it seems like the nipples converge at one place on the valve, does it matter if the hoses aren't hooked up to the same nipple they were on before? If it does matter, what sort of problems should I be looking for in case I guess wrong (50-50 for getting it right). Thanks for any responses!

That valve is to increase the idle speed when the steering is at full lock, which is when the pump is working harder. If you get them backwards, if there even is a backwards, then the only thing that would happen is the idle speed won't increase.
