I installed a Poweraid TB spacer and now my idle is up at like 1100-1200...whats with that? The two cables to the throttle body are not excessively tight or anything?? What do I need to adjust? I tried to loosen the two nuts a bit on the throttle cable but nothing changed really...I also took a 2000 mile road trip with it after I installed it thinking maybe it would self adjust, but of course no...

Any one else have this spacer in thier 5vzfe v6?? Its a 5spd.

Any help would be appreciated...

I'd remove it since they don't do anything on a direct port engine (air and fuel don't mix til in the cylinder) and why deal with the headache.

You'd get more results by adding a 5th wheel to your truck.

Its upside down. Take it off and flip it the right way. This Happened to my brothers dodge.

 

I dont think so, I was very careful when installing. There is the poweraid logo facing up on the spacer so visable and readable. I don't think that would be facing down hiding...when installing it also has one side that says throttle body side so there is no confusion...I am sure it is installed correctly.

It has to be the cables I am thinking...because I lost cruise control for awhile...then it came back suddenly...its tempermental now...I just dont really know how to adjust the cables...

 

Please just take it off and save yourself the pain.

 

Take it off, not like it's doing anything anyways. Maybe you can trick someone else into buying it.

Cut your losses and remove it. They really don't do anything on a direct injection engine.

You probably have messed up the thottle body gasket and now you have a vac leak, but I agree with everyone else...scrap it! and get a new TB gasket. Now go to your room and don't do any other mods without searching first.

Oh btw, URD sells an "O" shaped TB gasket for the 5VZFE. That mod may actually do something!

i know some guys who love there spacer ..one has a grand cherroke and one with chevy truck and one with dodge.....they say they get more power ,better milage. but ymmv

 

someone installs a spacer on a multipoint fuel injected engine...
then how can you trust them to be able
to measure power and mileage accurately ?

I just put in an lce throttle body spacer...now I'm having the same problem! You figure anything out?

 

Good job searching, but may I ask you why you put your spacer on and what you expect from it? They were primarily used for carb'd engines and engines with TBI which is Throttle Body Injection, so the spacer was put down stream from where the air and fuel would mix and was used to swirl the mixture into the combustion chamber. Toyota motors are not TBI motors and I assume you do not have a carb'd motor either, so the Spacer that you put on is really not doing much other than causing problems and adding more air volume in your intake manifold.

You could be having a few problems, your air/fuel ratio is now leaner than it was before from more volume in your intake causing a higher idle as your ECU has not compensated for it yet (not likely since it is so little), or you could simply have a vacuum leak, spray some water or WD40 or whatever around where your gasket is to see if the idle changes, if it does you have a leak.
