I want to remove cruise control

I want to remove my Cruiser control system. it has not worked since i bought the vehicle. well it works, but i a funny way, like it slows down then speeds up all the time rather than stay the constant speed. And if can remove it i might have more room under the hood.

And what i want to know is...is that golden thing in front of the master brake cylinder what i have to remove to disable Cruise Control? cause i can then move my intake up there and put a 2nd battery in it's old place.

and if i remove that thing then i dont really need to remove anything else and can move the intake up there?
Any help would be nice.

in my truck...93...2nd gen... the cc ecu is under the driverside kick panel just next to the fuse block...just unplug it...I was having the no o/d issue, and it was the cc ecu causing it.... i do believe that thing in front of the master cyl. is the cc actuator...u can take it out but if you dont disable/unplug the cc ecu, it may cause other issues...

a 1993 has different set-up than a 1991. i have a FSM all i really wanted to know is can i remove that thing in front of the master brake. and good to know that i'll just pull the fuse as well. then i'm going to buy a snorkel and move my intake up to in front of the master brake then i will add a second battery where the intake was!
