Gas in oil?
84 4runner, 22r.
1st post long time lurker. My oil smells a little like gas and I have checked the float level through the sight glass after turning it off for the night, then the next morning the level has dropped. It could just be evaporating but I think it is leaking into the intake. I have worked on carbs before mostly motorcraft 2 barrels and an edelbrock. I have searched this forum and have found an aap valve which I equate to a power valve for a holley. It enriches the fuel mixture according to manifold vacuum. When this aap is blown I have read that gas will be present in the vacuum hose which it isn't. could it be the needle not seating properly? Thanks in advance for any help.

It could be all of things you listed.
The most common culprit of gassy oil is a blown fuel pump diaphragm, which pumps fuel directly into the crankcase. Has your gas mileage been crappy lately?

i checked my oil and i got a hint of gas in it and i just rebuilt my 22r 5 speed and i have 33 all terrains on it and im getting really crappy fuel mileage maybe 10 miles to the gallon, and if the diapram is blown will it still run right?
