Slowly getting the interior of my '94 fixed up. I bought a front console piece from Colorado for $20, but it did not include whatever is used to cover the space between the rubber shift boots and the plastic surround. Does anyone have a picture of what is used?

you referring to the space between the bottom plastic pocket or whatever trim piece located under the ashtray to the shifter? If so, isn't it just carpet or is it different in 4runners as oppose to trucks?

 

Yeah, the front two shift levers in my 4runner are enclosed in rubber boots and surrounded by a piece of plastic that matches the plastic in the center console. But there is a gaping hole around the rubber shifter boots and it looks pretty crappy. I just saw on Ebay what it is that I need. It is called a shifter bezel and it comprises two leather or vinyl covers that go over the rubber boots and fit under the edge of the front plastic surround. Unfortunately, what is for sale is for a '97. At the moment, there are no boots for sale for my '94. I would buy the one for the newer model, but I am not sure it would fit my older plastic surround piece.

BTW, I would change the title of this topic to reflect the fact that I no longer need a picture, but I cannot figure out how to do that. Am I missing something here, or does this forum not allow authors to edit topic titles?

I went through the same thing you're going through. The vinyl boot you're talking about is a single boot with two openings for the shifters. I found mine on ebay. I think 90-95 4runners are the same. You might also try craigslist. Good luck, Ted.
