Limited 4Runner seats in a Tacoma?

Hey everyone, just throwin' some ideas around in my head for the truck. And I got to thinking about seats, the cloth seats aren't bad, but they aren't very good either. They aren't very supportive, and some lumbar adjustment would be awesome. Would seats from a Limited 4Runner fit in a Tacoma?, and was the Limited interior ever available in gray?

A while back I asked about putting a cat-back exhaust system on the Taco, but I ended up buying the AEM BruteForce intake and some nice WeatherTech floor mats instead. Thanks for all the help!

LOL, yeah I hear ya! For me the problem is I'm tall/thin and there is hardly any lumbar support, not to mention zero side bolsters. If it's possible to easily swap in the much better Limited seats why not? My father in law has a Limited 4Runner and I like those seats much better, even if you do slip around a little more because of the leather surface.

Would your father in law let you unbolt one his seats to try in your Taco? I'm assuming it's the same year.

Hey that's a good idea, I'm sure he wouldn't mind at all. His is a 1999 Limited, and the Taco is a 2004. It would be cool to know ahead of time if it will even work though.

Well if nobody chips in you take some measurements and examine the bracket arrangements between the two.

I have been thinking of putting in some Sport Edition seats (I hate leather). From the looks of it, the seats look identical in dimensions. The brackets even looked the same. If there was some fabbing to be done, I bet it would be very minimal.

And I don't think any 3rd Gen Limiteds came with grey leather. All I've seen is the tan color.

grey leather was an option. atleast it was a port installed option. i've seen an 01 SR5 with grey leather. it will probably be hard to find.

How do the Sport seats differ? That might be a good alternative if I can't find Limited seats.

Ok that's very good to know! I could live with black also, and tan is out of the question. It sounds like grey Limited seats could be very hard to find.

anything ever come of this for any of you guys?

that Toyota put these seats in a truck and still called it the SR5 package should be a crime. I also have an older '87 model with real SR5 adjustable seats in it and they're more comfortable even though they're over 20 years old.
