I'm looking at a 1995 4runner V6 5-speed with 117,000. The guy selling it says he knows nothing about the state of the engine, besides the fact that it's been well-taken care of. What are the chances of the gasket already being replaced? How permanent are these replacements? Also, if it hasn't been, and it goes out on me, will I get any help from Toyota?

 

Write down the VIN and stop in to your local dealer and they could look it up for you. They'll be able to see recalls done and needed to be done along with service history as long as service was done at the dealer.

yeah there was a recall on those. so you can go check and see if its been done if it hasn't they should do it for free. but it is very common for those to blow.
