any one know were i can get fiberglass or metal replacement bed sides for my 1994 toyota pickup or is it cheaper to build a nice flatbed

I like these and they work well in the rocks. Haven't had a problem on my truck yet. You will have to so some trimming on the fenders to get them to fit and look good as with most fiberglass I would imagine.

honestly I'd say make them it's not that hard. just fiberglass over your OEM bedsides to make a buck, then use use that buck as a cast for your new bedsides. It's pretty simple, and for the money these guys are talkin you could probably make them out of carbon fiber lol

I've seen people make them, a guy up here in Canada made them cause he didn't wanna pay duties, shipping and exchange rate. Pretty much saved only a hundred bucks maybe and they looked alright but not as good as the manufactured ones. Seeing as your most likely in the US you might as well just order some up. Usually $300 for fronts and $500 for bedsides plus you can get flared glass or different style bulges like flat top or the Ivan style. Unless you want the typical red-neck flat deck yota, no offense to anyone I just can't stand seeing a nice Toyota with a tanning deck (or bobbed bed) on it, I'm just into the natural body lines.

I dunno where your getting your "carbon fiber" from but it's gonna be a heck of a lot more and look pretty crappy if you do it yourself unless you have experience with it. Some things are just better to buy, not worth the time and effort unless you plan on making some duplicates and selling them. Then the quality has to be good, but to go through all the trouble for a set of bedsides that might turn out alright just doesn't seem worth it.

Sorry I didn't reply to this sooner. I don't know of any sites where they go through the process. What do you need to know though? Like how to fiberglass cuz it's really not hard or is it the actual making of fenders?

 

I suppose YouTube would be good for a how to. How about supplies etc. I don't see very many people making fiberglass parts. I don't mind trying myself. Maybe some door panels or something.

As a person who's owned fiberglass body panels, I've never buy them again. They scratch up, are a PIA to get lined up and attached, are super brittle and never look good. Thats my opinion. I'd definitely not waste my money ever again on them. You hit one rock and they are toast.

Go to a yard and get a bed, or flat bed it...

 

Fiberglass.... most of them time they need some good body work prior to painting..... also takes some time to get them lined up properly. I just put glass fenders on my 05, I love em... I am worried about them gettin chewed on the trail tho. well see.
