Rear wiper won't turn off!

Hey all,
I just put the top back on the runner and rolled up the window. When it got all the way up there was a pop and the wiper started going. Now it won't turn off and I can't get the window down. Any ideas?

disconnect the wiring (in the left rear corner) for the wiper/washer, that will allow the window to operate. you will have to check the wiper motor assy for possible electrical short as well as the wiring.

if you disconnect that plug and washer fluid tube, the wiper will NOT work. there will be NO electrical current flowing to the wiper motor. if there is, then someone has done some extra curricular wiring mods.

have you checked/cleaned the switch up front? there is something wrong somewhere, electrical gremlins are not the easiest to find and correct. maybe pm 4crawler, he is an electrical engineer and might be able to help you out.

Thanks for the reply. The wiper turns off when I undo the plug at the back, but that doesn't make the window work. I'm putting this off for a bit as I just took out the windshield and have some serious rust issues to tackle.

Sold that truck last year, but if I remember, I just replaced the switch and everything was ok.
