Screw Saudi Arabia....we got oil

Read this great news. Look at how much diesel fuel can be produced per acre for next to nothing in resources.

I am taking a break from writing my "representatives" to post this article. Lets see if big oil buys the patents and this is the last we see of cheap energy independence. I suggest you all do the same so they all will be talking about this salvation this week.

Very interesting. I keep learning new things everyday on this forum. It will be interesting to see what happens.

What really got my eyes open is when it said that the algae can use the CO2 from the oil plants to actually speed up the process...

Keep us posted on this if you get any new information k seairescue.

Their is many fuels around us that we can use, many renewable ones but it is the cost going from the ground to our tank which makes the difference and so far crude oil is still cheaper than anything we have to produce. Let's hope someone finds fuel that is cheaper than gas to make and renewable.

There are lots of solutions. The problem is that conventional oil has always been the cheapest to get at. Now, with high costs, there are actually incentives to look elsewhere.

I've seen this before on one of the science channels, it was referring to the algae used in sewage treatment plants. They said oh it can be eaten...it's the perfect nutrient...it can be turned into fuel, it's the perfect bio diesel base...blah-blah-blah. I promise you it's not all it's cracked up to be & I'm betting it's the cost to transform it into usable fuels that'll keep it from "freeing" us from fossil fuels. We still have a lot of oil that hasn't been tapped yet; the oil companies are just running us through the wringer & they admit it. They are at capitol hill answering the so called "tough questions" right now.

The problem is, congress also admits that there isn't anything they can really do other than threaten them with pulling their $16 Billion (yes Billion with a "B") in tax breaks if they don't lower their prices. They're gouging us & they know it, the govt. knows it & most reasonably intelligent average Joe's know it.

I read where the big three oil companies made in the neighborhood of $120 Billion in profits last year & one of them; Exxon I believe, made more in the first thirteen weeks of this year than they did all of last year & they made $40 Billion in PROFITS last year, that's after all operating & exploration costs. Think of those multi-hundred million dollar bonuses they are paying out to their executives the next time you fill up.

It would serve them all right if all the consumers in the U.S. stopped buying any fuel or oil for one week a month every month until the cut their prices.
