Brake Qiuestions

Hey guys, I'm having a really spongy feeling in my brakes, they've been bled, so my assumption is the master cylinder maybe? Give me some input or tell me if any more info is needed. Thanks!

First off check your brake reservoir. See if the rubber inside is swelled. If so then somone has put oil in it believe me I've seen it and it cause the same symptoms. What order did you bleed the brakes in?

By spongy do you mean you have to pump it to build pressure, it wont hold pressure, or just that it feels weak? A bad MC will not hold pressure. Build up the pressure, then hold the pedal w/ constant force. Does it go to the ground? If so, bad MC or leak somewhere. Check all connections first (at the calipers/wheel cylinders too).

^^^ Wont hold pressure. I will check all the brake lines tomorrow when I get a chance for a leak, if no leaks, bad MC?

That'd be my guess. My GF's car did the same thing. Found a small leak, but the problem persisted. New MC, problem solved.
