Another Testament to the Fuel Filter

So I changed out my fuel filter last nite, after repeated, "you don't need to do that...you don't need to do that...you don't need to do that...it won't do anything for you" from the stealer. He almost didn't sell me the part. But I slapped that sucker in in about 45 min and WOW what a difference. Instantly I can feel better acceleration and throttle control. And the install was not as bad as I thought it would be. not a whole lot of fuel was spilt, just tight space to work in. Tonite I get to swap out old spark plugs for new and replace all 3 belts, and this beast of a rig will command attention while driving out to the gorge at Goerge this weekend.

So if you havn't done it...DO IT!!

I just replaced mine! After putting it off for some time, I went ahead and picked it up while visiting my buddie over at AutoZone. I was a PIA, being that one of the fuel filter connectors was crimped to hell by the previous owner. I could use a box-end wrench for the life of me! Good 'ol Vise-Grips did the job though. I had just enough room with the lift, to sit upright under the truck, using the driveshaft as headrest from time to time. When all was said and done, not only did I notice a difference, but I got a "Did you do something different to the truck?" from the GF while driving out to dinner. Now in my book, that shows a difference in performance; when the GF realizes a difference, and she didn't even know I worked on the truck?!?

Filter change is a must!

I tried going on their site to pull the part # for you, but it's acting up. Sumthn has been up with their servers for the past couple of months. It was the standard replacement part [i don't know the exact name; red, white, and blue box] and it ran $19.99. I know this doesn't help you much, but they can pull it up on the computer for you, or any other parts store for that matter.

PS, Smoking while completing this task is not reccomended! [and no, I'm not speaking from experince]
