so cal 1993 2WD 4Runner 3VZ-E **BLOWN HG**

go figure right? $800 takes it in long beach, california. will be ready to go on the 13th. can AAA it for you locally if need be.

189k, darker red metallic, no stripe, SR5, *2WD* Auto
truck has seen all california driving. daily driver in long beach with trips up to the sierras until very recently. nothing more than a few wacky dirt roads.

bad:
* probably needs serious block/head work. 2nd blown hg on this motor with around 60k on it.
* needs egr valve to pass smog. currently modded to bypass egr. no welds, mod will bolt right off. made a kick ass cap for the egr exhaust mani pipe so an egr can be swapped on and off as you like.
* needs power steering pump work. pump leaked all over the place, so below there toward the starter etc is gunked up.
* tires are ancient. no leaks, roll fine, large as i could go with no rubbing, need replacing
* rear springs never done but her butt's not sagging yet.
* alternator status unknown, proceed with caution

not bad:
* tow pack from previous owner that i've never used
* brand new valve covers, timing and all other belts, all those gaskets
* brand new oil dipstick!
* brand new ngk plugs, good wires, dist cap, etc
* brand new o2 sensor, 30k on old one that is still probably good
* intake mani and throttle body cleaned like a mofo
* brand new water pump and thermo
* less than 10k on new radiator and bunch of coolant hoses
* most maintenance logged, bunch of reciepts etc
* no rust, all california truck. mine since 96 @45k.
* tps cleaned to perfection, still needs adjusting
* all stock
* steering rod recall never done, all others cashed in
* interior grey fabric, little rip on the drivers seat. might be a cig ash burn somewhere. no fart stains that im aware of. all knobs, turn signals, lights, etc work perfectly aside from bulbs needed in cabin, map, front door, and rear lights. dash, ash, glovebox, cupholder, etc all in great shape. floors are good, drivers side needs cleaning. no floormats.
* no stereo. harness for amp installed, will leave kenwood amp in the back but not sure if it works. line for kenwood disc changer runs from dash to behing rear passenger side seat. probably leaving the infinity components in the front, jbl's are installed in the back. im a mix engineer, used the car for testing mixes alot so the speakers are older but superb. will part with an older but working great kenwood deck (circa 2000ish) for cheap.
* battery is maybe 4 years old
* chrome all in great shape save the front grill which is the only POS aftermarket plastic thing bolted to this truck.

no serious accidents. rear ended some fool in 98 but nothing serious (he shoulda got the !@#% outta the runner's way!). trailer hitch punches hilarious square holes anytime cars bump the truck from behind.

basically just did down to the valve covers replacing all the easy stuff. once the new water pump was working the coolant better it became very obvious that the HG was blown. zero miles on the stuff listed brand new above, all dealer parts. if you plan on wrenching this engine, plan on a complete rebuild and possibly a cracked head. search my posts here, there a few with more details on this truck's hg problems.

great candidate for a 3.4 swap. would do so myself but i just don't have the space. trans is super solid, has never skipped a beat on me, serviced once before 100k (i think).

sorry if no shift annoys you. its late! will post pics later tonight and post to craigs list for $1k not too long after that. wanted to give first crack at this to yotatechsters, as this has been a really kick ass truck and still looks very nice. hopefully my baby can be a project for someone who will learn as much from yotatech as i have.

pm me here, will check messages this evening after work. price is firm.

*end extended late night ramble

update incase others are interested:

just stuck a for sale sign on it and this truck sold for $850 in 5 days. was getting constant calls and could easily have sold for $1500 or so if i wanted to be a dick and not be upfront about the motor. lots of offers of $1000, took $850 because the guy had cash in hand and i was tired of taking calls and explaining about the head gasket.
