Yea dude I have an 88 too, and that bench SUCKS!!!!!!!! So I went to the just yard and picked up some 95 4runner seats. The rear bolts lined up but I drilled new front bolts. They AWSOME!!!!!!! I paid 100 bucks for two.

not a good pick but thats what it looks like!

When you drill these holes is it any more complicated than just drilling and adding in bolts? Do you add any sort of brackets or reinforcements in the floor?

I may do this as well and am wondering what kind of process anyone has followed when doing this modification.

I have an 88 cab and I installed a pair of sr5 seats from a 4runner and they bolted right in. I Love them, very comfortable. I have also read somewhere that mr2 seats will bolt right in there too.

i put 86 mr2s in my 92 2wd. front holes lined up. back got new holes. seatbelts arent an issue really, just rotated the tabs. added a 90s 4runner console and short shifter too.

I have no idea where you guys find all these parts and seats for your trucks. I've been looking for MONTHS now for the seats from an SR5 4Runner to replace my crappy seats and there are no parts for yotas here in SoCal..Any one know any dismantlers in SoCal?

look at the mounting style to the floor. trucks have a tab that bends over and verticle with a horizontal bolt that goes into a weld nut. back uses a flat horizontal tab with a verticle bolt hole to either a weld nut or a nut on the bottom. if you put a nut on the bottom, use a nice big flat washer just to be safe. i know mr2s use that mounting style, with about the same bolt pattern of the 4 corners. mine were tweaked so i just made new holes in a few spots. i also spaced the back up with a few nuts between the floor and brackets. i sent in a writeup for the swap. should be on here somewhere in the tech section.
